BCR NP priorities.
At a series of early meetings, a number of issues were identified as the main priorities for this NP. This list is not exhaustive, and is constantly being updated, but it is used to guide decisions on funding allocation and direction of other resources like focussing officer time.
Green Capital Grants
Bristol has been awarded the title of European Green Capital for 2015. The Bristol 2015 Neighbourhood Partnerships (Green Capital Projects) Fund has been created to help every neighbourhood take part in creating a happier, healthier, greener city. Our Neighbourhood Partnership will be awarding grants, initially to a total of £10,000, to projects that can take place during 2015
Well Being Fund
Each year, a sum of money is allocated from BCC to the Neighbourhood Partnership as the Well Being fund.
S106 and CIL funding
Developers are required to give a contribution to ‘mitigate against the impact’ of their development either in money or in works carried out at their expense. This is called s106 money.
They are also required to pay a Community Infrastructure Levy, which is like a roof or floor area tax. This money goes to pay for the city’s infrastructure like roads and schools.
Local traffic schemes.
The NP can identify local traffic schemes such as junction improvements or zebra crossings which are paid for out of a devolved budget.
The NP can also have an input on Highway and Footway maintenance projects.
