Food Route- edible food to people not landfill

We are really pleased to introduce you to Food Route – a collaboration between FareShare South West, Incredible Edible Bristol and neighbourly.com to ensure edible food goes to people, not landfill…

This online network of food suppliers – from retail, manufacturing, distribution and growing sectors – make communities aware of surplus food and redistribute it to where it is needed.

Companies simply upload details of surplus food items to neighbourly.com. This notifies charities and community groups about items of interest which they can collect, free of charge.

If the food is suitable for composting or growing projects then these groups will also be alerted.

We believe this a really exciting programme and would like as many food donators and receivers to be involved in this pilot as possible. Please contact foodroute@neighbourly.com by Thursday 26th February if you are interested in participating.
